In CGL Tier-1 2017, In previous years CGL Tier-1 exam, mainly questions were asked from Error Detection, Fill in the blanks, Vocabulary based questions, Idioms, One Word Substitutions, Sentence Improvements and Reading Comprehension. But this time, The new types questions have been introduced.
In CGL Tier-1 2017, questions are being asked from Voice(Active/Passive), Narration(Direct/Indirect), Jumbled Paragraph(PQRS), and Cloze test. So friends, this is the new pattern of English questions. You need to revise and practice all these questions types to have an edge over other candidates. In this post we will discuss strategy for all these questions types separately.
➤The first big surprise has been introduction of Jumbled Paragraph. two questions are being asked from this topic.
You need to revise the trick and approach to solve Jumbled Paragraph Questions. Here are a few examples of jumbled paragraph.

➤Another change in pattern that we are seeing is the Voice (Active/Passive). This is the one the forms of verbs.
You should once revise all the rules regarding Active/passive. Let's discuss some examples of it to get clear idea.

(b) Delicious food is always being cooked by her
(c) Delicious food has been cooker by her

➤Now, Let's move toward the third surprise in SSC CGL Tier-1 2017 English Section and it is Narration(Direct/Indirect). One or two questions are being asked from this topic as well. You need to learn all the rules regarding direct and indirect sentences. Have a look at the following examples.

(a) Shreyas asked his brother if he was feeling better.
(b) Shreyas told his brother are you feeling better.
(c) Shreyas told that he was feeling better.

➤And the final fourth surprise in CGL Tier-1 2017, that is, cloze tests. Let's have an example of cloze test as well. For cloze test, you need to first read the whole passage ignoring the blank spaces, then try to fit all the options in the respective blanks, and you will get the correct answer which will fit in the context correctly. In cloze test, mainly questions are based on prepositions, phrasal verbs and vocabulary. So practice accordingly keeping in mind all these tricks. Here is an example of cloze test.
