Dear students, Today is the 5th day and second shift of SSC CGL 2017 Exam. The Exam will be conducted by SSC from 5th August to 24th August 2017.We are providing Exam analysis of SSC CGL Tier-1 2017 Shift-2, so that all other aspirants can get an overall and clear idea about exam pattern and difficulty level. The SSC CGL Tier-1 2017 is being held in online mode. Last year the Exam duration was 75 minutes but this time the Exam duration is 60 minutes.

General Intelligence

In SSC CGL Tier-1 Exam 2017 the questions of General Intelligence(Reasoning) were quite easy as usual. But some questions from series were difficult to solve. Students can have a fair idea of what SSC had been upto in terms of these questions. As per the inputs shared by students, this was the easiest among all the other sections.

English Language section again surprised candidates with Para Jumble was a new introduction in this year's exam and it is time consuming. 1 question from Active/Passive Voice and 1 question from narration. There was no reading comprehension and this was a major shocker for students. This year in this shift there was a cloze test (cloze tests were not seen in CGL Tier I exams in last 2-3 years). Questions from Antonyms & Synonyms were quite difficult.

Quantitative Aptitude

Quant in CGL 2017 exam was of moderate level. 5 Questions from tabular DI were asked and were very calculative. There were 4-5 questions of SI & CI and Profit and Loss. There were 2-3 from trigonometry which are not of basic level. Questions from algebra were quite easy. Geometry questions are not that easy.

Important Notice of SSC CGL 2016 Selected Candidates

The Staff Selection Commission has declared the final results of CGLE – 2016 on 5th August 2017. Now SSC has released a notice for 1700 candidates for filling up their Personal information who have been nominated through CGLE – 2016 for various posts in IA&AD.

  • Auditor- 200   
  • Accountant- 500

Allocation of the States to the nominated candidates for the respective posts shall be done on a computer based system. Accordingly, the candidates are advised to visit the official website of C&AG of India (www.cag.gov.in) and log into the URL http://cag.delhi.nic.in/statechoice for filling up their Personal information, State Preference & Attestation Form. 

Note: The online process will commence from 19 August 2017. The last date of filling up the online information is 9th September 2017.

The candidates are advised to read the instruction carefully before filling the required online information. After filling the details, the candidates are requested to take print out of the Personal Information, State Preference and Attestation Form. The hard copies of the same, duly signed by the candidates, should be sent on the below given address so as to reach this office by 22 September 2017.

Q. How many vacancies are there?
The number of vacancies are 414. The number of vacancies given above is tentative and may be changed at any stage by Services H. Q. 

Q.What is the age criteria to apply in this common written exam?
(i) For IMA—Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd July, 1994 and not later than 1st July, 1999 only are eligible.
(ii) For Indian Naval Academy—Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd July, 1994 and not later than 1st July, 1999 only are eligible.
(iii) For Air Force Academy—
20 to 24 years as on 1st July 2018 i.e. born not earlier than 2nd July, 1994 and not later than 1st July, 1998 (Upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable upto 26 yrs. i.e. born not earlier than 2nd July, 1992 and not later than 1st July, 1998) only are eligible.

NOTE: Candidate below 25 years of age must be unmarried. Marriage is not permitted during training. Married candidates above 25 years of age are eligible to 7 apply but during training period they will neither be provided married accommodation nor can they live with family out of the premises.

(iv) For Officers' Training Academy—(SSC Course for men) Male candidates (married or unmarried) born not earlier than 2nd July, 1993 and not later than 1st July, 1999 only are eligible.
(v) For Officers' Training Academy—(SSC Women Non-Technical Course) Unmarried women, issueless widows who have not remarried and issueless divorcees (in possession of divorce documents) who have not remarried are eligible. They should have been born not earlier than 2nd July, 1993 and not later than 1st July,1999.

NOTE : Male divorcee/widower candidates cannot be treated as unmarried male for the purpose of their admission in IMA/INA/AFA courses and accordingly they are not eligible for these courses.

    Some Important points about Exam:-
    • The maximum marks allotted to the written examination and to the interviews will be equal for each course.
    • The papers in all the subjects will consist of objective type questions only. 
    • There will be penalty (Negative Marking,One third (0.33)) for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the Objective Type Question Papers.
    • The question papers (Test Booklets) of General Knowledge and Elementary Mathematics will be set bilingually in Hindi as well as English.
    • Candidates must write the papers in their own hand. In no circumstances will they be allowed the help of a scribe to write answers for them.
    • The Commission have discretion to fix qualifying marks in any or all the subjects of the examination.
    • The candidates are not permitted to use calculator for answering objective type papers (Test Booklets). They should not therefore, bring the same inside the Examination Hall. 

    Intelligence and Personality Test (SSB)

    Candidates who have qualified in the written exam. Are required to Register themselves on the recruiting directorate website Www.joinindianarmy.nic.in in order to enable them to receive call up for Ssb interview.

    Q. What is the educational qualification required for various posts in this recruitment process?

    (i) For I.M.A. and Officers’ Training Academy— Degree of a recognised University or equivalent.
    (ii) For Indian Naval Academy—Degree in Engineering from a recognised University/Institution.
    (iii) For Air Force Academy—Degree of a recognised University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering. 


    Q. What is the application Fee? 
    Candidates (excepting Female/SC/ST candidates who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred Only)
